We are seeking a Scientific Illustrator to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in our mission. This is more than a traditional illustration role—you will be the visual storyteller who bridges the gap between life sciences and AI/ML, creating compelling visual narratives that unite diverse scientific disciplines and communicate groundbreaking research to the world.

Working in close partnership with our faculty members and reporting to AITHYRA’s scientific directors, you will shape the organization’s visual identity. In this role, you will translate intricate biomedical AI concepts into accessible and engaging visual narratives for scientists, stakeholders, and wider audiences.

Your Tasks

  • Translate complex life science and AI/ML concepts into clear, compelling illustrations that support collaboration across disciplines. 

  • Create high-quality visuals for scientific publications, presentations, grants, and educational or public-facing materials. 

  • Develop visual frameworks that make advanced biomedical AI topics accessible to diverse audiences. 

  • Collaborate closely with researchers and PIs to conceptualize original artwork that supports and inspires scientific innovation. 

  • Use a range of illustration techniques and tools to produce publication ready figures that meet journal standards and AITHYRA’s corporate guidelines.

  • Conduct background research to ensure scientific accuracy and consistency. 

  • Maintain organized portfolios and documentation of artwork and processes. 

  • Contribute to creative strategy by proposing new visualization ideas and staying current with emerging illustration and visualization technologies.

Your Profile

  • Background in Scientific Illustration, Fine Arts, Life Sciences, or a related field

  • Strong portfolio and extensive hands-on experience in scientific illustration

  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, AI and relevant visualization tools

  • Comfortable with both digital and traditional techniques

  • Solid grasp of life sciences and ability to translate complex ideas visually

  • Clear communicator who thrives in collaborative scientific environments

  • Detail driven, creative, organized, and adaptable in fast-paced settings
